The first step that everyone miss is to take the first action. Taking the first step might seem to be just an action, but my god! Do you know the weight of that action? Never, ever underestimate the first step. It may sound not so important, it may sound really easy to execute, but as long as you have not made your first step, everything will be hard and almost impossible to happen.
There's a chinese idiom that states(translated into English) "The longest journeys start with the first step". It's very old, but it is still as true as God himself. Every journey starts with the first step. The first action. It swings you into action. It generates that critical pushing force to get your momentum going. And once your momentum is up, it doesn't stop easily. That is why the first step is undoubtly the most important action to take when doing something.
So how do you take the first imperative step to successful do what you are aiming to do? It's not as easy as it sounds, but it should prove to be not so much of a problem if you are determined enough to start what you started. One of the actions you could take, is to step right into the project. For example, if you are trying to create an internet business, then just take the plunge and register for your domain name. This particular action will boost your productivity, believe me!
The main problem for most people is that they are afraid of the risks involved. In simpler terms, they are afraid to face potential losses. Let me tell you this, no pain no gain. Actually, risks can be totally eliminated from the equation. Do you think playing around with stocks is risky for Warren Buffet? Do you think Kobe Bryant is constantly nervous about hitting the hoop whenever dunking a shot? No, they have extremely low risk, if none at all.
And that, my friend, means that you have to learn to reduce or eliminate risk. How? By learning about the subject you are going to explore. Read up articles regarding that topic, study successful people in your field or researching through the internet. Through this simple action, your risk will be totally annihilated, if not drastically reduced. Then, your obstacle to taking that first, vital step will be removed.
Some people also fear that they have no time to nurture and give neccessary attention to their project. Often times, their fears are justified when things go wrong and they blame themselves or other people for their failure. Blaming others will never get the job done, neither will pushing all the responsibilty to someone else. Therefore, make the jump, then be responsible. When you make that jump, your momentum will be up and running and you will be as productive as a 24/7 robot.
Agree or not, it is an undeniable fact that the first step is the most important action to take. You can devise as much strategy as you can, you can lay out as much ideas as you can, and they could be exceptionally well. But, if no action is taken on your part, that paper-talk will never become reality. Take the plunge and make the first step, and you will be a successful person in your life.
Taking the plunge is always hard, so let's make it easier! When I first started creating internet businesses, it was hard.
